ABOUT ME

Minecraft HD Skin asset maker

AMYZINQ
THE ARTIST BEHIND THE ART
Hey, I’m Amy, also known as Amyzinq! I’m a writer, HD Minecraft asset skin maker, CIT artist, set-designer, and Blockbuster animator. My creative journey started as a digital illustrator, where I spent years perfecting my style and learning to love the power of detail and design. Now, I try to bring that same passion for detail to the MCTV community, constantly pushing the limits, experimenting with new techniques, and always trying to challenge myself with storytelling in Minecraft.

For almost three years, I have been designing highly detailed HD Minecraft skins, helping creators enhance their characters' physical appearance with detail and expression. I'm also passionate about set-design, focusing on creating realistic builds and environments that bring Minecraft’s blocky world to life with details and cinematic depth. My goal is to make every scene feel personal and authentic — something that feels genuine and lived-in, even within Minecraft’s blocky world.

Alongside skin and build design, I’m passionate about writing, directing, and animating stories that break the limits for what is possible. I've been at it for a couple of years now, and I love creating Minecraft series that mirror the production quality of real cinema and TV shows — complete with impactful storytelling, authentic dialogue, and intense character arcs. One of my most recent projects, Straight Curves, allowed me to explore the limits of my skills in scriptwriting, directing, animation, and editing to tell a story in a new, more cinematic way. It was a personal milestone that pushed my limits and set a new standard for how Minecraft storytelling can be done.

I’m always looking for ways to experiment and improve, whether it's through a new animation technique, a better way to design characters, or a fresh approach to set-building. I really love what I do because it combines art, storytelling, and technology, and it lets me share my passion with the wider MCTV community.

Thank you to all the Minecraft Creators who choose to support my work by buying and using my assets in their Roleplays and Machinimas. It means a lot to me as I continue to grow as an artist within the community.

STRAIGHT CURVES
A MINECRAFT CINEMATIC SERIES
Straight Curves is a series I worked on throughout 2023 and officially released at the beginning of 2024.

It was originally created in Swedish, but to make it accessible to a broader audience, I added English subtitles to the full series. It spans 10 episodes with a total runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes, fully animated using the Blockbuster Mod.
“Noah is one of the most popular guys in school. Along with his friends Isaac, Leo, and Sebastian, he makes life miserable for other students. Some might call him a bully — but Noah wouldn’t see himself that way. He simply doesn’t care enough about others to question his own behavior.

That is, until he meets Theodore — known as Theo to his close friends, Freya, Angie, and Emmie. There’s something different about Theo, something Noah can’t quite put his finger on. And as his feelings for Theo grow, so does his confusion, forcing him to question himself in ways he never has before.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTIONS REGARDING MY ASSETS, BUILDS, ETC.

Frequently Asked Questions
AM I ALLOWED TO SHARE BOUGHT ITEMS WITH FRIENDS?

No. You are not. I make the assets, customers buy my assets, I get paid for my work. If I am made aware of a person who is sharing my assets there will be serious consequences.

AM I ALLOWED TO EDIT YOUR ASSETS?

Yes. You may edit my assets however you please, although I should still be credited.

IF ME AND MY FRIEND OWN THE SAME ASSETS, CAN I HELP THEM MAKE SKINS USING YOUR ASSETS?

Yes. As long as you both have bought that asset from me, you're free to make skins for friends using my assets.

AM I ALLOWED TO USE YOUR SKINASSETS OUTSIDE OF ROLEPLAYS?

Yes. Provided you don't share the assets - or skin - with others you are allowed to use my assets for your skin in 1st person roleplays, SMPs, and where other content creators are present. This does not count as sharing the asset as they're only viewing it.

I HAVE A FEW IDEAS FOR ASSETS, DO YOU TAKE SUGGESTIONS?

Yes! I'm always open to suggestions. You can find a Google Form created specifically for Gumroad Suggestions here.

I LEFT A SUGGESTION, HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU'LL CREATE IT?

I actually have a To-Do list on Trello to keep track of assets I'm currently working on, but also assets I'm planning to work on. Check it out here!.

WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU USE?

I use Adobe Photoshop for my Skin Assets and for Texturing for my CIT's. I use Blockbench for making my CIT's.

DO YOU TAKE COMMISSIONS?

No. As of now I'm always a bit busy so I don't take commissions - I only work with a few selected people.

WHAT DOES "CIT" MEAN?

CIT stands for "Custom Item Texture", and they make it possible to make a Texturepack that replaces certain renamed items with custom 3D models made in Blockbench. They're a way to make MCRP's look more realistic, as in my opinion, 3D items looks WAY better than 2D items. Read more about CIT's here.

CAN I USE YOUR CIT-PACKS IN NEWER VERSIONS (INCLUDING FABRIC)?

Yes! I've made it so every single one of my CIT packs, old and new, and compatible with 1.12.1, newer versions including Fabric 1.20.1. Both newer versions, Fabric and Forge, require an additional mod in order to work. For more information on how to install for newer versions CLICK HERE.

➤ BUILD TIPS

Mixing Resolutions.
I avoid mixing texture resolutions in my builds, such as combining 16x16 textures with 32x32 or higher. In fact, I typically avoid 16x16 textures altogether. This is because many MCRP/MCTV characters use HD skins, and those don’t mix well with a 16x16 environment.
Vanilla Builds as Bases.
To make my sets look more realistic, I never start with a vanilla-built house as a base. I always start from scratch and put a lot of effort into making sure it’s built to real-life scale rather than Minecraft’s default scale. So, I more or less avoid building a "Minecraft"-house.
Inspiration beyond Minecraft.
My inspiration comes from real-world sources like architectural blueprints, 3D concept builds, real homes, and even Sims 4-builds. I always avoid turning to Minecraft builds for inspiration, as they’re often limited by vanilla mechanics, which don’t apply when using advanced tools like LittleTiles and Chisel & Bits.
Use Natural Colors.
While there are people out there with neon or saturated colored houses, it’s far from common. I avoid what I like to call “digital colors,” which are overly bright or saturated tones, and stick with more natural-looking ones.
Aesthetics.
For interiors, I stick to a consistent aesthetic or vibe. For example, modern builds feature sleek, minimalist furniture, while vintage pieces stay in period-appropriate settings. I never mix styles, since it can break immersion.
Floorplans.
I put as much effort as possible into the floorplan. I try to avoid rooms that feel too big because they’re harder to fill and look out of proportion to the characters. I stick to the general rule of thumb that 1 block = 1 meter to keep things realistic.
Full Blocks.
Full blocks make walls unrealistically thick (1 meter). Instead, I use Chisel & Bits to create thinner walls, like half-block or even less.
Decorate with the use of Blockbuster.
For decorating, I often use the Blockbuster Model Block to freely place things wherever I want. I’ll add Item- or Block-morphs to the Model Block, grouping multiple decor pieces into one single block to keep things tidy.
Posters and Paintings.
I stay away from posters or paintings with realistic humans. Since “humans” in the MCRP/MCTV universe are blocky characters, having a realistic person on a poster feels out of place. Instead, I use graphic designs, text, cartoon animals, or objects—anything that doesn’t clash with the in-universe style.
Realistic Thinking.
I always try to keep things realistic. Most characters don’t own the entire house they live in or the school they go to. Even if a character has a punk aesthetic, their whole house wouldn’t reflect it. Most houses, usually owned by parents, are neutral, desaturated, and honestly kind of boring—definitely not full of bright or dark, saturated colors.
